bali bali

before we left, there were indonesians giving us (me and aaron were talking about it) advice what to do and not to do in bali.. hahaha...dont buy pencils from the kids, dont feed the monkeys and such lah... hahaha....

so the journey begins... charlene sat with me, ps steven was sleeping, beekim reading and aaron i dont know what he was doing...

and we have arrived at night.

this is the hotel we stayed at. the GM is a christian so he really gave us good rates! it's really worth the money. with welcome drinks, breakfast included. that's our room. i slept in the middle.

next day, we went to Ubud the shopping market. spent all our money. bought tons of stuffs. and had babi guling nearby there (this is like a tourist stop so it was more expensive - a ripped off. ah but then, it's a must try. let's not talk about how they prepare the meal..... hahaha...

this is bali colada. a restaurant in discovery mall.
the food is actually quite good compared to our hotel's food. haha.... 10 mins walk away from our hotel. we sat there facing the sea. the wind was soooo strong and cold. it's not expensive actually like RM10 per dish lah. the mall had a warehouse shop with RM30 canvas converse shoes! i wanted to get but no size. aaron bought two pairs, max, kel and dan bought one pair each.

ok. these are from 'tanah lot'. erm... floating temple. if tide is low, u can walk from the mainland to the temple out there but the tide was hide so we cant walk over (i dont want also). it was scary from the high place we were taking photo i hang on to max for dear life just to take that shot. dunno why neil kept appearing behind me. and finally if u can see the two tiny fella inside the red circle. that was max and aaron. hahaha.... my camera can only zoom 3 times so cant get them. but then after that they went down below to the gerbang for me to take the shots all the way from here... with kel's 12x zoom super power camera! hahaha...

that's steven pretending to be a jap tourist with his orange hat, green t and pink 'frogs'! ahahahaha....

this is by far, the BEST meal in bali we had. we were enroute to another location and stopped by some stalls at the side of the road where there is babi guling for the boys who'd not tried it yet, there's sate babi (very yummy) for us and the nasi campur bali. yeah.... the simple food is more tasty than all the hotel food for the past few days and it's soooo cheap some more.. ajoh!
next, we went to this place. ulu...something. i forgot the name.
it's another temple place where it's next to the sea lah. i braved it and went there to take the picture... so scary! they warned us there would be monkeys and asked us to keep everything cos would steal or grab.

we were taking pictures and the monkey came nearer and nearer to Steven. one local said he want the bottle of water that steven was holding so we left it at the floor and the monkey grab it and bite straight thru the bottle to drink the water. the fangs were scary to see!

ok. here, let me tell u my trauma story. this is the most unpleasant part of the trip for me. i was walking behind max, in front of steven and beekim at "01" . one moneky from big x on the pillar, lunge at me with its claws. i closed my eyes cos i scared it will poke my eyes or hang on to me!! i screamed. the monkey took my specs.
i opened my eyes, nobody beside me, monkey at X on the floor came to grab my slipper with its claws. i jump, stampped my feet and scream and cry and yell all at the same time at "02" and other monkeys started surrounding us hence all the little 'x'. it was so scary. i was literally shaking whole body and crying. it was so scary. finally one of the locals came and exchanged food back for my specs but the shape was abit out and it bite my specs. i wanted to leave immediately but i still have to go through the route to get out and there were also many monkeys on the way. it was one of the most scary time of my life i cried all the way in the van, all the way down the hill. i text kat and told her i was soo scared. i put on the earplug, on the music loud to drown out the voices of the rest of them in the van cos they were talking about how another monkey stole cuza' hat and how it show its fangs and all that. i sat there trying not to hear them and tearing all the way down.

the thing in my mind was. i really hate this place. this full of idols place. this fake spiritual place that let the monkeys scare human. and i know one thing. God gave Adam authority over all the animals but the devil is so evil that it put such fear over human (especially those in bali) that the ppl fear the very thing that they have authority over. even when the driver shared with us the local culture and religion, he told us that at every door there are two creature seated there as guardian to 'disturb' ppl who walk in that did not give offering to them. when i heard that, i felt so heavy-laden and so sadden to see the ppl leaving under such bondage and slavery to fear when God has set us free from can give us a hope and success.

i knew then that i was treading on spiritual ground (that place was a temple ground) that's why the spirit in the monkey was trying to put fear in me. later at night, i spent a long time praying and interceeeding for the land n for myself. greater is the one in me than the one that is in the monkey. it wont deter me from praying for Bali and throughout the rest of the trip, i kept praying on and off. and as we take off in the flight, i look down at the land and added my prayers to petition in heaven for a breakthrough for the land.

dewata cafe. the almost last stop of day 3 - at Jimbaran beach. we were gonna have dinner on the beach literally but it rained so we moved into the restaurant. erm... probably cos spoiled by good seafood in KL, the food is so-so only lah.. but i'm sure u like Daniel's posing above. the funny thing about the last picture there was aaron had really bad sunburn. when max did the surprise run and jump on his shoulder, aaron yelped in PAIN! hahaha...

the last morning. we were all pysched up to spend all the leftover money to go home later but it was raining on and off all morning, ruining our mood. so we sat there and started playing "6 Take" cos didnt want to play 'mafia'. it was simple fun but we enjoyed ourselves and didnt waste time. hehee... next time i can introduce the game to you.

aaron the fly!
he did buy one dark glasses in the end - not this one but another one that made him look really more cool!

err... i didnt believe it too!!! ps steven would do such a thing in public!! at the airport! we created a commotion. the shop assistants came rushing out and laugh with us!! hahaha...
he wanted to show off his pink 'frogs' with kelvin's new handmade real leather jacket, and polo new short pants!! hahaha... it was a hilarious sight!

i finally bought the flower clip i wanted!! yeah! this is one of the thing i bought that i SUPER like-y! hehehe... (was waiting to board at the airport)

ok. confession. i went with a half empty luggage bag, i came back full to the brim! i bought two dress, two blouses, a big load of souvenirs for a surprise, some pouches, a bag for my mom, bangles for my girls, a little dress for my isabelle, a present for this sun, two pairs of slippers and three board shorts! yeah! hahahah..... oh yeah and my two flower clips and sun burn on my shoulders!...

m always glad i'm back. to my own bed. own toilet. can sms without worrying of the price. can drive to wherever and not scared be lost. can get back to typing at my baby... ooo... shiok.. hehehe...

guess what i did when i arrived at home? on my baby, send email to my discipleship girls and ask them if they want to take discipleship trip to bali this jun/july! hahahahaha.... yahoo....
