we all JUST dancing for God...

The past 2 days, I had been watching dances at our churches or Christian groups. From the States to Korea, to those in KL.

I remember I was commenting to Nai Lin…

…why are the choreography still just standing at position and do the moves with hardly any change of formation at all? Don’t they watch concerts or what the world is already doing? If they have not come to realization that they need to improve then how are they gonna make a difference to the world? Why would the world come to them if they are still doing the old stuffs when outside is offering much more excitement and interesting choreographies that can keep their attention. One minute of watching each of the videos, I kinda got bored and switch to another video and then on to another and then on to another video…

Last night, reaching home 11pm and as usual, the aprt was quiet, everyone’s asleep, when I was in the shower, I just tune in to either worship, singing or alert to hear from God in the quietness, praying about the dances I’ve seen and asking God how come the church dances are still in the old school.

Immediate God adjusted me.

They are called to worship Me and whether the formation is changing or just standing still, they have done well. They worshipped me in what they are called to do and that is good enough.

But your call is not just to worship but to reach artistes and affect the media and performing arts, so your way of doing dance needs to rise up to the next level in standard – in skill and in spirit. If you do this, you have done well else, you need to reach to your calling. Vice versa. There is no comparison because the objective-calling given to each dance group is different.

That one God-thought dropped like a bomb that blew me off. Immediately, I repent of my pridefulness because I was using my own measure to judge other people when it is God that knows the heart and He is the judge.

Ever wondered about the abbreviation A.S.A.P.?
Generally we thi! nk of it in terms of even more
hurry and stress in our lives.
Maybe if we think of this abbreviation in a different
manner, we will begin to find a new way to deal
with those rough days along the way.

There's work to do, deadlines to meet; you've got no time to spare,

But as yo! u hurry and scurry-
ASAP - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER

When I was in China last month, I saw a Chinese modern dance competition on TV. One couple won one of the top prizes. The lady has one arm and the guy has one leg. They performed gracefully and beautifully.

The lady in her 30s was a dancer and was trained as one since she was a little girl. Later she got into some kind of accident and lost her entire left arm. She was depressed for a few years. It seemed that someone asked her to coach a Children's dancing group. From that point on, she realized she could not forget dancing. She still loved to dance. She wanted to dance again. So she started to do some of her old routines. But by her losing an arm, she also lost her balance. It took a while before she could even making simple turns and spins without falling. Eventually she got it.

Then she heard some guy in his 20s had lost a leg in an accident. This guy also fell into the usual denial, depression and anger type of emotional roller coaster. She looked him up (seemingly he was from a different Province) and persuaded him to dance with her. He had never danced. And to dance with one leg? Are you joking with me? No way.
But she didn't give up. He reluctantly agreed. " I have nothing else to do anyway." She started to teach him dancing 101. The two broke up a few times because the guy had no concept of using muscle, control his body, and a few other basic things about dancing. When she became frustrated and lost patience with him, he would walk out. Eventually they came back together and started training. They hired a choreographer to design routines for them. She would fly high (held by him) with both arms (a sleeve for an arm) flying in the air. He could bend horizontally supported by one leg and she leaning on him, etc.

They danced beautifully and they legitimately beat others in the competition.

I would like to share with you this most magnificent and touching performance I have ever seen! It is a living proof that strong spirit can conquer any physical limitations!

Exodus 9 - Plague of Hail

vs 13-15... This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let MY people go, so that they may worship ME, or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against YOU, and against YOUR officials and YOUR people, so YOU may know that there is no one like me in all the earth. For by now I could have stretched out MY hand and struck YOU and YOUR people with a plpague that would gave wiped YOU of the earth.

sometimes, we think that things belong to us. we claim it. we believe it.
the ministry we serve in belong to me - cos it's what everyone knows.
the discipleship gals are my gals- cos it's in the chart.
the apartment is my apartment - cos it's in my name.
the car is my car - cos i bought it.

what i learned today as i read this passage is this...
we claim it but we actually have no power of protection over it. God was telling Pharoah - oh yeah, u say it's yours?? if u say it's yours then u must have the power to protect it, keep it to own it. but.... do you? do i?
i realised that i don't have the power. i don't have the power to keep my car from being banged, my aprtment from being burned down, my gals from being harmed, tempted, my ministry to grow... i don't.

i'm just humbled by this passage this morning.
all that i am belongs to God and if i put his ownership over it, HE is able to protect it, keep it or grow it.

thank you, Lord for a new understanding of Your might. when you say u can protect it, u are ABLE to do so above any kings or any 'powerful-people'.. you are above it. in Jesus name, amen!

God is just so good... He aldy wanna strike them but still got mercy on the people!
vs 18-19.. at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt... give an order now to bring in the field to a place of shelter, because the hail will fall on every man and animal... and they will die.
those who believed was saved, those who do not believed died.. not becos God was being bad but because of their own unbelief, thinking they can protect their own things... but they actually are not able to...

Vanness - Come Jesus Come

I think i've told quite a lot of ppl about this so here's my proof! hahha...
after watching this video, i started to pray for him - to be a real christian artiste in the industry. that was so many years ago. not sure if there'd been any change but i believe covering him in prayers will definitely not go wrong. hope to get to interview him one day on his faith journey so i can know how effective my prayers are?? heheh...
