Dinner with PC's family

last sunday i went to pc's family dinner as her god-sister. she does this every year around christmas time. it's her way of family reunion with everyone. this year there was korean wrap meat, japanese sushi, and some really weird kerabu but really yummie. hahaha..
after dinner, i went to check out the kids playing this new board game that pc bought for pastor's boys as gift. joel read the whole manual and was teaching the rest how to play. it was really funny cos they were really confused.

Gordon!

wanted to do a small farewell for Gordon cos he'll be leaving us on the 30th to US. our only guy dancer is leaving.. sigh.... so we gathered and pray for him and gave him a sweater! hehehee....

Happy Birthday to her!

Community at Heart Board

just now we went to setup the place. but i am now too tired to describe. so... just photos lah.. ahhaha..

CYW Penang

ching came to stay over as we were going to fly to penang early in the morning. kaz became the ultimate airport cab driver. heheheh... he came to take us to the airport with the petrol sign flashing at him all the way to the airport. haahaha... but i've discovered something worse than driving to airport without petrol..... and that is arriving to check in and found you cant find your IC!!! ahahahaha....when I was checking in, YC cant find her IC!! jorrr... she dig and dig and dig for it.

This is the backstage dressing room. where we were all preparing. and this is where some of our stuffs got stolen - my phone, jude's phone and jasmine lost about RM100 or so from her wallet!! Talk about JUSTICE! sigh... i'm not so much sam toong with the loss of the phone but i miss the pink phone hanger that the dancers bought for me when we all went to disneyland, all my photos in the SD Card.... i just hope the thief don't miss use the data and all the phone numbers in the phone!!! if u get anything suspicious, please please be careful! i wont have my sim card back for another few days so please dont be deceived!

Behind Jasmine's Shiny Resume

If you did not know or have not heard, let me tell u now.

"One of our students studying Mass Comm at Taylor's, JASMINE YOW, had authored newly published, hot-out-of-press biography of her journey struggling through depression. If you've seen the cheerful, happy, helpful side of her, you need to read this book to see how she reach here. You can get it from her (jasmine.yow@gmail.com) or at our 1a.m. Kiosk after service!"

I know Jasmine since when she was a little girl and call me 'jiejie Sharon'. haahah... i fetched her to movies and took her out when she came for a math-a-ton boot camp training at 'somewhere deep and far i forgot the name of the place' (about 2 hours drive from puchong).

and i've also heard how bad the depression time when she was in Singapore. i've fetched her from airport all the way to pastor's house without a word. and i've also seen how she changed when she settled here to study in Sunway. i've seen her trying to think right, check her attitude deliberately and turn to the word of God. i've seen how she's now a funny, bubbly, sparkling team mate that encourages the team to stay on the purpose of God.

her life has truly been a testimony to me and to many around her. Do grab the book and be challenged from whining about your circumstances!

Celebrating Birthdays at Asam House ...

...can also be an event! u know lah, me being me.... never do things simple (applicable when i have time and inspiration)!

It's been a while since the dwindling dance team came together for a good fellowship. So i gathered them to a surprise Doreen birthday party! yahoo... even though it's only 4 of us.

borrowed the props of marriage course and went to set the place waiting for her. well, during the 1.5 hours that me n jasmine were sitting there, we caught many second glances and smiles from ppl who saw us setting up the table. especially with wine glasses.

islam (the waiter) came saying hi and saw the glasses and then he squinted his eyes and asked, "is that hoi tai yeh?".. hahaha... he cant believe his eyes. oh well...

when yean ching came, we started taking pictures cos nothing to do. and doreen just made the U-turn. haaha...

we decided to promote celebrating birthdays in style in Asam House!
ahahhaahhaha....

when she arrive, we started singing "happy birthday..." and finally can have dinner!! i was soooo hungry d! hahahah... then we rush off to church cos tonite got rehearsal. ok. tired d. good nite! =)

when i mentioned that tiramisu is a romantic cake, which I THINK means somewhere along the line of "bring me along"... jasmine immediately decided that this will be her wedding cake. and we burst out laughing!! i googled and it found some ppl saying that it means PICK ME UP or LIFT ME UP.... romantic or not, tiramisu is not my fav cake lor...

friendship makes certain days special and when we do thoughtful things to celebrate it together, it became an extraordinary day! at least it was for me lah... haahaha... thanks to jasmine, doreen, yean ching and myself! =)

Gulliver + Poodle

much things had been happening with office and heavenly gift and to top it off, i got a sudden deal and now i'm starting a blogshop maybe in a week or two's time. do visit it when it's up and see if anything fits you. will update. meanwhile, introducing Gulliver (big) and Poodle (small). hahaha...

it's quite a good therapy for me. i cant help but laugh out loud whenever i watch this. and i've watched it more than ten times. hahahha...

a dance and a song...

ben & pania - rhumba
i just love the way they move at those gaps without beat or music....
sytycd australia s2e9

m i getting emo or wad... i think watching it for the 10th time, i can cry now. =(

anouk - lost

this song is like reaching into a cry deep inside ... a place where it exists in you.

merr sent me this (this morning):

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2009 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave. - i dont do this!

2 You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years. - i've to admit

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3. - not really but also kind of.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you. - so much truth in this

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses. - hahahha... it takes greater effort when they dont have email.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries. - nah... not applicable to someone who dont buy grocery or cook!

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen. - i believe in googling before deciding!

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it. - OH YAH!!! feels like losing my arm and leg when i forgot my phone! definite turn around.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee. - who say anything about logged out? even my comp goes only to standby mode.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12 You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list. - hahhaa.... i didnt notice

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list - ops!

AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.

i want to add one more line to a discovery from last nite:
9. you sms to your house mate at the other room two steps away to ask a question instead of walking over! - trish hor...! ! hahaha...

i think i'm getting way too comfortable where i am.
.. in my work...
.. in my apartment...
.. in my position in life...

i'm not sure if this is healthy or just plain lepak...

shades of cyan

i was curious and thought to find out the difference between aqua, turquoise, cyan, teal and the range. some ppl tell me it's close to blue, some ppl say it's closer to green. so i just thought to increase my personal knowledge. i wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Shades_of_cyan

guess wad! i still dont think i can differentiate it when asked the next time. the range is too close and i guess to play it safe, i'll just answer that they are all in the "shades of cyan"! hahahaha..
here are some of the other photos i took during Sam & Caryn's wedding. i blogged about it at eye-note but paiseh want to put so many own pictures there. so read it over there yah! =)

one blessing from coordinating weddings is that i make new friends. i got to know gary, elaine, dawson, pei sen, sam, caryn in the way that just going to the same church for years wont be able to spark off. it's truly a blessing... and did i mention romantic to be in prettie weddings..?? hahaha..

arthur's day celebration

last nite i went to the arthur's day celebration at sunway lagoon surf beach.
me being the duh me, seeing the bep picture at the posters and banners, assumed that it's a bep concert, with other featuring artiste. BUT...
it's NOT!
it's a lot of artistes performing, featuring bep! ah ha!
got difference leh like this.
i tot i could go see the event, stay for a few of bep songs and leave early but in the end bep only came on about 10:30pm or so!!! i stood there cramped and squashed and dripping in sweat (mine and others who touched me) just to hear 2 bep song and left earlier before the throng of human stampede happened.

i was telling jay, next time i've to do a concert where ppl go in by height.. hahaha.. so short ppl can see among all these giants!
i purposely took this to show you what i can see from my eye view! hahahah..

this is from Jay's view. big difference from mine!

i super like the signage. thought of tearing one out and stick next to church entrance before SNL! "This way to the REAL most remarkable party"
waited forever till they come out

Confusing Chinese Names

Caller : Hello, can I speak to Annie Wan (anyone)?

Operator : Yes, you can speak to me.

Caller : No, I want to speak to Annie Wan (anyone)!

Operator : You are talking to someone! Who is this?

Caller : I'm Sam Wan (Someone). And I need to talk to Annie Wan (anyone)! It's urgent.

Operator : I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone! But what's this urgent matter about?

Caller : Well... just tell my sister Annie Wan (anyone) that our brother Noel Wan (no one)has involved in an accident. Noel Wan (no one)got injured and now Noel Wan (no one) is being sent to the hospital. Right now, Avery Wan (everyone) is on his way to the hospital.

Operator : Look if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital, then the accident isn't an urgen t matter! You may find this hilarious but I don't have time for this!

Caller : You are so rude! Who are you?

Operator : I'm Saw Lee (Sorry).

Caller : Yes! You should be sorry. Now give me your name!!

discipleship gals

this is the discipleship gals of pc's. last sunday, to celebrate pc's birthday, she took us all to andana spa for the whole day. and she even paid the bulk of the bill. she's been reading this book on rest and she took us on a rest-ful discipleship time. ain't she the gem?

charlene in her cute-ness, walked in and remarked that we all look like green froggies! hahahaha....

and pc gave us all a present - the wedding photos with each of us in a a4 size frame. i cant show u the rest of the girls photos because it's theirs but i can show u mine. cos it's mine. ah ha! it's lover-ley.... this is one of my favourite photos. the one with pc is beautiful of course. the two with wai foong i really like.... and the funny group photo we took, and the lovely gals photo we took... oooo...... few people find good friends. but fewer managed to find those they can cry with and laugh with and stand with even though we are not best of friends, but we are such kind of friends. it's a different level to relating... thanks, all my sistas!

merr's me

So you think you can choreograph.... like this?

There were not really many good things happening for me in SYTYCD S5.
i loved S4 more cos there really were so many more productions that had moved me from one state of emotions to another, bringing me to places i've not been to.
but here are THE two choreography from Season 5 that had brought goosebumps to my skin all through the experience and tears that easily come to the brim of my eyes. hope u'll enjoy it as much as i did - the truth in the experience.

when i see these, i know that there are rare geniuses in this world that are specially gifted enabling them to reach deep in and touch your soul with their creations... whether u are prepared for it or not... and i, humbly, am not one of those...

this is, thus far, the choreography that's closest to heart. addiction. the truth is so real. the reality so close. the bondage so difficult to break. it can make me cry.
how many times in our lives where we want, we do, we desire... that which is not good for us? too many times to count. it brings back memories.
the routine had forever changed the song 'gravity' for me. of course i fell in love with sara bareilles after this. every time i listen to this song, i will become quiet, with the whirl of emotions running inside as i ponder and pace myself in my thoughts. it affects me. mia, u're the priceless.

choreo by mia michaels, danced by kupono & kayla.

when i watch this with trish in the room, we were so quiet after it finished. we were brought out of the room into somewhere else. the experience kept us in silence, kept our emotions, kept the goosebumps on our skin. when we came back to our senses, i think we turned to face each other and exclaimed..."oooohhh... sooooo good..." and this ended up being one of the favourite routine that i've watched countless many times.

this dance is about a woman with breast cancer.
just how many times in our lives where we can remember the struggle, the strength, the helplessness to have to go through in a difficult situation that is not in our control but yet we can't avoid it? too many to count. too many fears I can recall. tyce, you're the gift.

choreo by tyce diorio, danced by ade & melissa.

these two choreographers has the 'power' to change my emotions. wow....

playing with fire

Just an article i read when i open yahoo.com this morning. Money is like fire. it's good when it's controlled but raise havoc when unleashed stupidly.

How to Lose $3 Million in Six Years

by Mike Krumboltz

Stop us if this sounds familiar: A very lucky person wins the lottery and expects life to change for the better, but instead, things go horribly wrong. It's a story as old as the hills, but each time it happens, it causes a huge commotion in Search. The latest "victim" of sudden wealth is a young woman from the U.K. who won millions of bucks several years ago, only to lose the vast majority of it shortly thereafter.

Callie Rogers was just 16 when she won a whopping $3 million in the lottery. Six years later, she reports that she blew untold sums on drugs, partying, exotic cars, and breast implants. A staggering $730,000 went to designer clothes alone, Ms. Rogers explains in an article from AOL. Says Rogers: "I honestly wish I'd never won the lottery money — and knowing what I know now I should have just given it all back to them." She's currently left with around $32,000.

In these trying economic times, Ms. Rogers will likely find little sympathy. Still, it's worth noting that she's hardly the first big winner who wished she'd never bought a ticket. There is such a thing as the lottery curse: As mentioned in a previous Buzz Log, there are numerous cases of lotto winners getting divorced due to stress and losing everything from poor investments. A few have even died at the hands of greedy relatives. A 2007 article from ABC will fill you in on a few more examples.

Knowing she's not the first jackpot winner to suffer hardship won't make her life any easier. But perhaps Ms. Rogers can take some comfort from the fact that there are others out there with eerily similar stories: They won big then lost big, and often wish they'd never even played.

trish the baby

here's trisha' happy face awaiting her graduation bouquet! hehehe...
trish can really be a baby... easy cry and easy laugh....

or maybe it's just that i'm good in 'change her world'
ahahahaha... oh well...

cyw kluang

ok... m not going to repeat everything about the event a second time so u might as well head over there. just one personal note i wanted to add here... hehehe...

ok... it's an odd angle... but i wanted to show off my yellow shoes that goes perfectly well with my yellow tee shirt! hahahah...

and this is the hotel we were staying at... in hokkien i think i means "lovers"?? "loved ones"? or somethign like that... but it's quite ancient and the ancient-ness is just funny for us as we discover the various 'ancient-ness' of it all.... like faith's toilet uses blue light... like our heater only works if it's medium heat (not low or high)... like chrystin's panic face when she was told the toilet wont lock... ahahhahahaah.... among other things...

yesterday
