10 Days trip - third stop Guangzhou!

Guangzhou was kind a last minute add on that we decided to go. But mostly, I wanted to go stock in or at least scout for some stocks. But in the end I didnt buy anything because I didnt want to stock in imitation goods! and everywhere I see, it's seriously 'inspired by' this brand or that brand.

We just arrived via a bus from Macau. Met with my friend's friend and the first comment he gave was that "yah.. i heard from sendy that malaysians like to wear flip flops when going out." Me and Trish was like *blank-face + huh?!-is-that-a-problem?* but by then of course we know that everyone is well-puffed before they exit and we were walking around in flip flops and without makeup. hahaha... ohwell..

we were really glad for a decent room after the two nights of shivering in cold in macau. after check in, we went lunch. they prepacked the utensils and bowls and plates but we still need to rinse it with the hot water. means still not so clean lah..??

Guess what! the first place he (my friend's friend = LZH) took us to a museum?! We were like.. "no.. it's ok. we can go other places." he insisted and it's the first time we meet him so we dare not be too forceful but after 30mins, Trish is already bored to tears. So we speed up the walking so that we can come out faster. hahahaha...

Ok. Here's the thing - the museum is actually a tomb of one of the rulers in that area years ago. they dug his tomb and turned it into a museum and display all the artifacts! So, it was quite a weird experience for me! hahaha...

So this is the actual tomb. when the ruler died, all his wives, favourite concubine and their favourite servants were all buried with their favourite jewellery and gold and such. So the space u see below has different 'chamber' which they were buried according to their importance .. which we can now walk in to see. Not sure if it was interesting or eerie but yah.. i went in too out of curiosity and came out fast fast! But i guess it's a tough job being the ruler's favourite since you'll have to be buried with him when he die... err.... good thing it's no longer legal now.

when we came out, we saw this off duty officers playing a game so naturally we took a photo!

a candy store. after i took a shot, she say, "NO photo taking" forcefully. so i stopped. but not sure what's the harm done?! competition? er... ??

besides a lot of candies, everywhere i see a lot of ppl! imagine the queue in every shop. seriously long. i see the queue, i decided not to buy d lah...

that's trisha trying to get a drink. see the cute little her trying to squeeze in...? she's desperate already at that point where she declared herself to be dehydrated! hahaha...

we continued walking and didnt buy anything to my LZH's uneasiness. hahaha.. he was pretty sure were going to run amok and buy and buy and buy.. end up we didnt get anything and went dinner. i forgot what did we had.

this was the next morning's breakfast, a few shops away from our hotel. soya milk and dumplings and pau. all eat dry and bland. but it was interesting. i didnt really mind for the new tryout. ahahhaha... i think the first night we each bought a padded winter jacket. Mine's YELLOW! hahaha..

and the day started... with walking all the wholesalers... OMGEEEEEEEE... we seriously walked soooooo much. but hardly bought anything. lzh was like "if you two split up and walk maybe will be more fruitful" - he's caught on. me n trish almost always like different things and could hardly agree on something we both think is nice and worth buying. ahhahaa..

finished walking for i think 4 hours or so then went lunch. LZH got to know that we eat spicy so we ended up in this spicy restaurant. sit in and i was excited already... after days of no chilli, this is good!! hahaha...

green colour all is chilli ok! good! i like this!

fish! good. super spicy. i like!

my friend was suffering... so we went for dessert to cool down! hahhaa..

by dinnertime, he was suffering already! but this time, it's the szechuan food. and seriously, when he open the menu, he can already fear the spiciness! ahahhaa... but the best. seriously the best szechuan i've tried. made me so missed it that i started searching for sze chuan food when i came back!

that's the beef and the chicken cubes i think. both extreme spicy! the chicken cubes was too salty for me after a while. but the beef... ooo... tenderness yo!

the spiciness can numb your tongue and your lips goodness me! after 5 mins, we were all numbed but trish was saying "not spicy also".. ahhahaha.. she GENG ah!

both me and trish are vege eaters and trish can survive on salad everyday kind of person. so naturally, we will eat this vege a lot... but in actual fact, my friend ordered this so that he can have one dish that's not spicy and after a while, he told us not to invade his dish anymore else he would have nothing to eat! hahahah... we of course stopped lor but the vege was soooo good! it's call "hoi sui pak choy" which means literally "cabbage cook in water" (or something like that) because the soup looks clear but in reality, it clear chicken soup. so ... i love it! yet to find it in kl though.

another dish call "sui chu yue" literal translation to 'fish cook in water'. goodness! spicy!!!! but yummy!! remembering all these now is making me so want to eat them again.

after the long walking days, we went back, drop all the packages and went to massage! yeah! the difference between massage here and there is this. Here, we emphasize on 'feeling'.. the slow and relaxing movements to help you relax, unwind, breathe... there.. it's like 'make it worth the money'! a lot fast and hard rubbing! but after the super worth the money session, we feel totally loosen up! good!

they first make us soak in this hot, traditional herbal water. murky and black.

back and neck massage. later went to another room for a full body massage. while were in this room, there's a huge lcd screen tv that was showing one of the current hong kong series (the story was set in the olden days)... i can see that trish do not really understand. every time there was a funny part, everyone in the room laugh except trish! ahaah...

since yesterday was the last night and i didnt buy stocks so i bought for myself! the jeans jacket is new! =)
and finally remember to have one picture with lzh! in fact, the only picture. ahhaha.. taken right before the ride in the train to hong kong.

trish took this when we were taking the escalator in the guangzhou train station. we were really blessed in this trip because lzh paid for almost everything from the cab rides even to the hotel and all the food. except one lunch i paid and of course if we buy things, we paid lah.. but other than that.... he paid for everything else.

that's the end to GZ... heading on to HK! yahoo!
