if i'm not wrong, this is in the train from GZ to HK!
arrived! trish has motion sickness so every time we travel, she will instantly sleep. leaving me to entertain myself the whole. ride. hahaha...
trish say she feels happier in hong kong because i know the place well. haha.. actually i also a tourist mar.. also not very sure...
the first minivan that trish took. but it was a really rough ride! like the bas mini here. the moment we alight, trish terus say she want to vomit ... panic me!
the condo that my friend in HK stayed at. came down terus saw "Fisherman's Wharf" right in front. ahhahaa... gosh. first in macau now in hk. behind the condo, there's a nice place that people jog and just take a walk after meal.. very nice and relaxing. this was something i discovered during my first trip here. really misses this place.
after dropping off our luggage, we came down for 'mah lat mien'... another sze chuan noodle. ahhaha... seems interesting but i think trish was concern with the layer of oil. hahaha... superb! came out crying!
then i took trisha next door to this famous dessert shop. the menu was all in chinese and so we asked the girl to patiently explain to us what they have but the ingredients she mentioned in chinese we also unsure what is it! hahhaa...
trish ordered the black. i ordered the white! just happened so! hahaha... hers is hot. mine is cold! we are THAT different! all the time.
her friend told her that gong cha is a must try so ever since we arrived, i think trish tried one flavor every day. i only try one on the very last day!
after lunch, we loiter and shop around that area. can't remember if we bought anything but that area can really 'be shopped'! waited for my friend to come back from work and have dinner together. she came with her two sons and we ended up in a japanese restaurant that posted the notice outside to say "we will try as much as we can not to use products imported from japan" due to the radiation. hhahaha... my friend is actually quite a funny mother! then after dinner, she took us to try this shaved ice dessert! yummy! her son wanted the yogurt but she didnt want so she tried in all sorts of ways to deter him but ended up we got that flavour too! hahaha.. interesting!
the next morning, trish went with me to visit my grand uncle and aunty. they are in their seventies. and when i insisted to pay for the meal, she took the bill and sat on it not allowing me to pay wor! hahaha... i mean even trish can see they really sayang us by ordering a lot for us to eat. ahahaa.. they've been saying wanting to visit malaysia one more time but because of his health, it would be difficult for him to travel... dizzy lah, need to lie down lah... and instead of taking pocket money from me, they gave me pocket money to spend in hong kong! every time after visiting them i become emo... cos i misses them. they stay at sheung shui and to my amazement, i even remember how to walk from the station to their flat!
the thing i'm not used to when taking the minivan in hk is that i have to shout when i want to alight. feels super weird! hahahaha...
we came back from my grand uncle's place and went roaming the hong kong streets. some interesting stuffs. some not so interesting. some rude vendors. some friendly vendors.
we almost didnt try this because trish didnt want me to be left out cos i wont be able to eat the famous double boiled milk dessert but i insisted that she try because it's really good. so i took the steamed egg instead. IT WAS REALLY GOOD! SO GOOD THAT I CAN STILL WANT IT! =P
see how clean the bowl you'll know how good it was lor.
for dinner, we ended up in a food court. i had udon but trish went to get the yam pie from mcd as she really really wanted to try it.
next morning, we woke up earlier, went to mc cafe for breakfast. see the other family in the photo, they are koreans! the toddler so cute.
trish has this MINI DIANA camera that she brings around (a new toy from her birthday presents) and so we went to hunt for the shop that sells diana's accessories. took a bus from the apartment and alight outside the science museum and walk to the shop.. only to find out that they open around 12pm... two hours from then.
we then went to walk around and discovered the stars avenue. the one i didnt go the last trip. we also took a walk down and trish was like having the time of her life shooting photographs from all three cameras! hahaha
then we rushed off to tung chung which was so far away and discovered the outlet malls and went crazy shopping at all the branded goods... and bought a lot of stuffs from the Esprit and then rushed off to CENTRAL to meet my supplier. She bought us the 'put chai kou' cupcake! hhaha.. and she's pregnant! She called me from the streets cos she say she saw me wearing MM shoes. She was wearing a pair too!
then we rushed back to loomography shop to get the films for diana and rushed up to take the tram up to the peak. took some photos and rushed back down to meet my friend for dinner. we were super super late. supposed to meet at 7pm, we arrived around 9pm or later. we took the doubledecker bus down from the peak. i was kinda concern for trish sake and true enough, the moment we arrive, she went straight to the toilet and vomited .. poor her. the price to pay for enjoying travel with motion sickness.
this time we had dinner with the husband and the two sons. japanese buffet pulak. ahhaha... i think this trip we had japanese 3 times in the ten days. i think the kids like jap-food.
after the buffet, he insisted we try the 'chau tau foo' (smelly fried tofu).
see trish's seriously in doubt face?! hahaha.. it's really stinky but the taste not bad. smells sourish like rotten spoiled food. and that's the younger son. ziqi.
that's trish and the older son. zijing. so funny expressions! i was having gastric that time and didnt try. the dad quickly bought me gastric pills.
THIS is the view from my friend's house! amazing isn't it. just love it.
next morning, we had breakfast, final shopping, grabbed our bags and went to take the ferry back to macau and fly off from there!
we were quite late and had to run all the way to catch the ferry!
since we found about the free rides from the casinos, we alight from the ferry, took the shuttle to the venetian hotel and walk to the other shuttle from the hotel to the airport. all for free! yeah! save all the money! waited for the check in, bought some last minute biscuits and off we flew back to KL! hahaha... Chris Leong came and pick us up around 2+am andby the time we reach home, i was ready to crash all the way! hahahaha....
one thing trish said about this trip was that it's the first time she travelling in asian countries (i didnt know that) but in this trip, we both experienced so much more on being a local than being a tourists. in macau we stayed at the residential area instead of the hotel, in gz, we had a local taking us to all the local places and in hk, we stayed a residential area also and the visit to my grand uncle n aunty's place was like seriously looking into the old ppl's lifestyle playing chess under the trees... all the real lifestyle of local people in each places. a different experience altogether! =)
and i finally completed the ten days trip posts before the next trip! phew!
