# 2 Chronicles 32:22

So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others. He took care of them on every side.

who takes care of you in your life?

sometimes i strive because i felt that i've to fend for myself because as the only child, i fend for my family, people are naturally selfish and everyone takes care of themselves when trouble comes. i tot that if i needed anything, i've to fend for it myself lah. but God showed me that He will take care of me. He can. i realised.
it's better to have the Creator of the Heaven and Earth, the Almighty God, the Everlasting Father, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords to take care of me instead of trying to fend for myself with my feeble attempts.
Luk 8:35 And they went out to see what had come to pass; and they came to Jesus, and found the man, from whom the demons were gone out, sitting, clothed and in his right mind, at the feet of Jesus: and they were afraid.

after second round of victory weekend, i felt like my right mind is restored. i woke up feeling like i'm in the right mind.

Luke 5

Luke 5

1One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, with the people crowding around him and listening to the word of God, 2he saw at the water's edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.

4When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch."

5Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets."

6When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

every time i read this passage, i just assume that the fishes came but tonight, ps robert kayanja opened my eyes. God created the fishes from water. just like in genesis, God made something out of nothing. and when Jesus told them to put the net in, Jesus created the fishes! it's a miracle. not just a 'calling out the fishes'

wow. God is just amazing! God is able. He's able to CREATE. not just healed or make right the situation! wow...

who are you afraid of?

1 Samuel 10:6, The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you in power, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person.

1 samuel 10:22b; he (Saul) has hidden himself among the baggage.

1 samuel 15:24b; I was afraid of the people and so I gave in to them.

1 samuel 18:12, Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with David but had left Saul.

1 samuel 18:28, when Saul realized that the Lord was with David and that his daughter Michal loved David, 29Saul became still more afraid of him…

Saul was afraid of people, afraid of David, afraid of man.

David was afraid of God.

I think we all know what's the ending of their lives.

Gideon

Judges 6:14,
The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you?"

"But Lord," Gideon asked, "how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family."

The Lord answered, "I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together."

Producing the dance production, coordinating wedding, discipling girls, managing office -
doing each of these, only tells me that I am small, weak, people just want their own ways, I am at times unwilling in my heart and sometimes, it hurts to know more.

Today, as I was reading the book of Judges, just like God spoke to Gideon, i know God is also telling, just go with the little strength that i have and the rest is up to him to make it happen or not happen. if i'm tired, i can stop and rest, if i am frustrated, i can pour it out to someone, if i am hurt, i can cry out to Him, if i need a breather space, i can stop, drop everything and pick it up again later. He will be with me. He will send the right people to help me, encourage me and walk with me. He will send the finances, He will make a way, He will show me the truth of the people.

God is amazingly involved in every area of my life. i'm glad for His Presence.

genesis 28 vs genesis 32

i shared in office devotion today. this thot is something that's been in my mind for the past week and so i brought it to the table today.

first, i asked all of them. how did they come about to working in this office.
like for me, i remembered that during one of the youth camp in peacehaven, i felt God called me to serve Him. that was the second time i heard it and i know i needed to do something about it. i shared it with pas tim but he said there's no opening and he felt i should experience the secular world first. so i left it as it is but shortly after that, kay (administrator at that time) decide to resign n pastor called me if i'm still interested to work for church office. that's how i started. so i was very sure God called me to be there so each year when i struggle and want to leave, i know God reminds me that He's the one that'd calledit me there and unless He say i can leave, i stay put.

so each of them begin to share.
jude prayed and felt led to here.
beesean heard God asking her to stay.
yc knows God wanted her to work here but she didnt want to but God closed all the others doors for her so that she'd be sure this is where He wants her to be.
kel know God called him 25 years ago to play for Him.
neil, daniel, deborah, steven, cuz, pastor tim, pc....

each one had their own version of how god spoke to them, called them and hence all of us ended up here.
if u are here today, it would have been quite a sharing to hear each one's story. how God pulled each one to form today's team.

i shared from genesis 28 - jacob met God. he saw a vision of angels, hear God spoke to him but his interpretation of meeting God was to attain God's blessing. that's why his response to God was also in material - u give me 100%, i give u 10%.
that's why Jacob continued in his ways - from deceiving his brother to deceiving his father-in-law, gaining his advantages and he succeeded. from a career point of view, he made it.
but from God's point of view, Jacob's not made it YET.
God's not interested in just the 10% of Jacob's life.
God is interested in Jacob's 100%.
that's why in genesis 32, when God wrestled with Jacob all night - and he came out of it totally changed 100% this time - physically crippled, emotionally exhausted, spiritually transformed complete with a name changed to Israel.

we all heard God's call and came to work in this office.
1. if we are only thinking God is interested in grooming our skill alone then we are also thinking of the 10% cos God is interested in the 100% of us - he wants to mold us 100% to fit into the destiny He has for us.

2. if we have strayed from our calling, then we need to align ourselves back to first calling. if we think it's just a career stepping stone or the money is not good enough, or why do we have to work late or why do we need to attend all the services or why is it call serving and not working, then need to align ourselves back.
we are called to serve here by God because of His agenda, not our own agendas.
all the material things in the world can't fill the hole of relating with God.

my tot seems everywhere cos i got tot everywhere. haha...

Exodus 9 - Plague of Hail

vs 13-15... This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let MY people go, so that they may worship ME, or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against YOU, and against YOUR officials and YOUR people, so YOU may know that there is no one like me in all the earth. For by now I could have stretched out MY hand and struck YOU and YOUR people with a plpague that would gave wiped YOU of the earth.

sometimes, we think that things belong to us. we claim it. we believe it.
the ministry we serve in belong to me - cos it's what everyone knows.
the discipleship gals are my gals- cos it's in the chart.
the apartment is my apartment - cos it's in my name.
the car is my car - cos i bought it.

what i learned today as i read this passage is this...
we claim it but we actually have no power of protection over it. God was telling Pharoah - oh yeah, u say it's yours?? if u say it's yours then u must have the power to protect it, keep it to own it. but.... do you? do i?
i realised that i don't have the power. i don't have the power to keep my car from being banged, my aprtment from being burned down, my gals from being harmed, tempted, my ministry to grow... i don't.

i'm just humbled by this passage this morning.
all that i am belongs to God and if i put his ownership over it, HE is able to protect it, keep it or grow it.

thank you, Lord for a new understanding of Your might. when you say u can protect it, u are ABLE to do so above any kings or any 'powerful-people'.. you are above it. in Jesus name, amen!

God is just so good... He aldy wanna strike them but still got mercy on the people!
vs 18-19.. at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt... give an order now to bring in the field to a place of shelter, because the hail will fall on every man and animal... and they will die.
those who believed was saved, those who do not believed died.. not becos God was being bad but because of their own unbelief, thinking they can protect their own things... but they actually are not able to...

Luke 19: Choose to walk in as a Guest and not as food for Lions!

1Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. 4So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

5When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." 6So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

7All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.' "

8But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."

9Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."

Steven used this passage during worship leading this morning. As i listen, God prompted me something else..
many times in the past couple of years, as i thought about leaving the church office to work in the entertainment industry, i always feel like i'm walking into lion's den. i need to be prepared for it. i need to have my guards up, i need to be prepared for hardship or to be wallup by the merciless lions...
but as Steven shared this morning, the Holy Spirit dropped into my heart to correct me.
not all the time it would be lion's den. it could be like Jesus - a special guest among the 'lions' it depend on whether i see them as lions or as friends.
wow... this really broke my wrong perspective and caused me to admit that without me realising, i was taking the 'world' as lions and if i do tat, i wont be able to reach them because my perspective of them is totally messed up.
wow.. this revelation changed my mind! hehe... thanks, PASTOR Steven! you're the star!!

Psalm 18:31 - 36

For who is God besides the LORD?
and who is the Rock except our God?

It is the Lord who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he enables me to stand on the heights.

He trains my hands for battle;
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

You give me your shield of victory,
and your right hand sustains me;
you stoop down to make me great.

You broaden the path beneath me,
so that my ankles do not turn.

******

reading these words already gives faith and hope to go on.
but how come so many times, it's easier to give up, to run, to leave, to avoid,
to fear... than to hold on to Him?

Lord, have mercy on your people. We need You.

I need His strong arms to pull me up.
Like i shared at SNL preservice prayer, we all need a hero in our lives.
Every where i turn, i see ppl crying out for a hero - loudly and silently...

Pre-Service Prayer 210407: Jacob's Dream at Bethel

Jacob's Dream at Bethel

10 Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran. 11 When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. 12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. 13 There above it stood the LORD, and he said: "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. 14 Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. 15 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I was not aware of it." 17 He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven."

Read the passage.

1.
Is this or is this not the House of God? Then, surely this could be the Gate of Heaven!
You are standing at the gate of heaven!!
You know what does this 'gate' means? This Gate = access to God, an opening, a way...
Tonight as you stand at this gate, you have access to this Almighty God.
Jacob's response was that 'He was not aware of it!!" But you are.
You know you are standing at this gate.
What would you say to Him? What do you want from Him? You have a need? A desire? A struggle? You need a way out? You need someone who can help you out? Well, you are at the right place. You are standing at the gate of heaven, standing before the Almighty God.
Think for a moment. Pair up 2 by 2. Share your thoughts. Pray for yourself as the other person stand in agreement with you.

2.
We are standing before the Presence of God. Let's commit and pray for His words to be revealed to us tonight. Let His words be real and give us answers to questions we have in our mind.
Let's pray for one another to be ministered by His Presence and His Words tonight. Let's pray for a fruitful upcoming week!

3.
What your response is the God that's before you, i don't know. But what His response to you, can be found in verse 13 that you've read.
He say He'll bless you, He'll be with you. He will watch over you wherever you go. He will not leave you until he had done what He promised you.
Doesn't that sound like a good God? Do you agree?
Come on, let's give Him the loudest praise Him we can! Let's tell him you love Him.

PC's Comment:

I think u did great! V confident n bold.. Sure of wat u wanna lead d ppl in2. U have progressed. haha.. from can't utter a single word 2 sayin so much. wel done.

Guess i did ok after all .. *wink.

warnings!

Genesis 4:6-7, Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master over it."

Luke 22:31, Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift u as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.
This is one poem I felt describes the Bible... I had it written at the back cover of my (not current) Bible!

Notes on the Art of Poetry by Dylan Thomas (1914-1953)

I could never have dreamt that there were such goings-on
in the world between the covers of books,
such sandstorms and ice blasts of words,
such staggering peace, such enormous laughter,
such and so many blinding bright lights,
spalshing all over the pages
in a million bits and pieces
all of which were words, words, words,
and each of which were alive forever
in its own delight and glory and oddity and light.

The Issue of Trusting God!

God knows the desires of our hearts because He watches over us, our coming in and going out.

I’ve been praying about buying my own place for about a year. If you know my story, my parents had a financial breakdown about 2 years ago and we had to sell everything to pay the debts and from a above average inheritance I was suppose to have, it all became to nothing and so I rented my current apt and invited my parents to come and stay with me.

But last year, my dad took his EPF and gave me a downpayment. So I began my search.

But somehow or rather, as I pray, I didn’t feel that was the direction God wanted me to go so I put it off, telling my parents that it wasn’t time. Plus I was asking around and found out that I didn’t have enough money to buy a place because of the high interest rates.

I put everything off until PC mentioned it to Jaslyn, and Jaslyn sent me an email saying that AIA is giving quite a good rate. After calculating, I found out that I can afford to actually own a place! Then, the story starts to get interesting.

So, from zero to be able to get my own place, I’m already very grateful to God... But, you see, the God that we serve is a big God. When He is out to bless us, He MEANS it!

First, the price. PC is quite accurate in these giving figures actually. She told me to get an apt about RM125K. But me, I’m not good with figures. But I remember one day, I was sitting down in my room, prayed and in my own figures and calculation, I came up with the number 125K also. But when I started to check out the prices and the apartments, most of them were asking for RM135K to RM145K. But I was still at peace. Lepaklah… you’ll know its God’s will when it’s happens accordingly lah…

I saw about 4 to 5 units but I quite like this unit on the 8th floor but the owner is asking for RM135K. When my agent asked me how much I wanna offer for it, I pulled the figure from my head – RM125K. Now, I was expecting the owner to say it’s too much to reduce RM10K and blah blah blah… but somehow or rather, after some thoughts and mumbling, she agreed! I was shocked! She DID reduced RM10K! That’s why when I say it’s God’s will, it will happen. I felt at peace So, that’s another blessing from God.

Then, come a scary part. Being first timer in these legal matters, I was looking for a lawyer and it was so expensive, the kind of misc costs they put on paper! Then I went away on a cell trip to frasers and all in all, I was late in getting my Sales and Purchase Agreement! By the stated rule, I was to pay a penalty of 2% from the sales price which is about 2+K! can you imagine me suddenly shaken? Hehehe… I was shaken but it’s funny to describe. It’s like I know I was walking on water I know I was suppose to be sinking but somehow, I was at peace and not sinking.

I finally found marcus, he was so helpful, he rushed it for me and when he called the owner, she said that she’s going away for a long weekend and can only do it the following week! So, now, who’s the one late? She! So I don’t have to pay penalty! Yoo hooo…. Ehhehehe… phew… close call? Yes! Very!

Then next, there were many many banks offering loans that seems very attractive and benefits here and there so for a while I was confused by too many choices. Again I tried to calculate but I just got so confused, I stopped, prayed and I remembered that it was JAslyn that first gave me the first green light on getting an apartment, as I continue to pray I knew that the peace of God is upon that. So I made up my mind, with or without my calculation, I was going to take the AIA option. So, once I obeyed, I again see God’s blessing.

Because of all late here and there added up, I only get to apply my loan next week. So I see another blessing! I was asking Jaslyn about submitting the loan, and she said ‘AIA is reducing the interest rates for new policy holders, starting on the 11th may!’ So, I was late for A REASON!

Today, as we take out our offerings to give, are your hearts, and your lifestyle able to trust God for His provision even when you felt you are walking on water? In 1 timothy 6:17, the Bible says that “God who RICHLY PROVIDES FOR US with everything for our enjoyment!” Today, as you give, give with a willing and a trusting heart, knowing that God is ALL OUT to bless you!

As the ushers proceed, let me read you some verses from the Bible.

2 Samuel 22:31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
Psalm 9:10, And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Psalm 28:7, The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.
Psalm 31:19, Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!
Psalm 37:5, Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 56:3, Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
Proverbs 28:25, …But he who trusts in the LORD will be prospered.
Psalm 31:14, But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.”

zech 8:14-17

Zech 8:14-17, This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Just as I had determined to bring disaster upon you and showed no pity when your fathers angered me," says the LORD Almighty, "So now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid. Therse are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; do not plot evil against your neighbor, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this," declares the LORD.
What can i say about my Jesus?
He's the Son of God, He is the God whom I have a personal relationship with.He came to my rescue countless times and I believe He is God. He's My God.

What can i say about my Bible?

I've read it many times and it has touched my life too many times. It sells more copies than the DVC!
It stood the test of time and place!

there are many reasons that many people have found to answer your questions, you can find it here....
http://christiananswers.net/menu-at1.html or http://www.davincicode.org.sg

How could a 2 years research by a novelist, debunk a historical book that's been around for more than 2000 years AND just this mere 2 years of research, succeed over numerous professors, archaelogists, and brainy peoples that had been trying to do it for the past couple of milleniums? Can Dan be more brainy than all these many brains put together? i seriously doubt it lor... =)

if u would gif dan brown the chance to invade your mind and faith, it's only fair for u to gif the bible a chance to invade your mind and faith too! so, why not pick up a real bible and see what God has to say?

yeah, so there is the possiblility that I am wrong rite? but dun deduct the possibility that YOU are wrong. So, why must I be the one that's wrong?

As Christians, let us prophesy that as the ppl watch the movie or read the book, the seed of the word of God...will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavents will drop their dew. God will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people...(zec 8:12)

and let us pray for ourselves to...not be afraid, speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts, do not plot evil against your neighbor, do not love to swear falsely, love truth and peace and let us go entreat the LORD and seek the LORD Almighty.

If we have the Word of God... "ten men from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew(Christian) by the hem of his robe and say, 'Let us go with YOU, because we have heard that God is with YOU.'"

Last note, if Heaven DO exist, u have an eternal penalty to suffer. Don't wait til then to 'realise'. By then, repent also no use, u've missed the cutting line.... i'm not stupid, r u not stupid too? =)

Luke 21:34

Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.

Hear this praises from a grateful heart, each time i think of you my praises starts, love U so much, Jesus, love U so much...

wat is your heart filled with? is it presentable before God?

God - My Bodyguard + Bouncer! =)

Zechariah 2:4... 'Jerusalem will be a city without walls because of the great number of men and livestock in it. And I myself will be a wall of fire around it," delcares the LORD, 'and i will be its glory within.'

God... the Almighty One, the One who place the stars in the skies and know them by name, He says He will the wall of fire around the city without walls....
u know wat else is without walls? the church. the bride of Christ.

Many times we pray for many people, pray for many blessings, but we forgot to pray for ourselves and allow ourselves be attacked by the enemies' arrows that meant to hurt, steal, and hopefully destroy our faith, trust in God, and eventually our lives.

Lately, i've been seing many attacks from the enemies upon me and upon ppl i know. when i came across this verse, i also remember the 'indescibable' song and began to sing about this Amazing God.

Are u feeling defeated? pray for the wall of fire around u that He may extinguish all the arrows of attacks upon your life! Devil, hands off my life! smack!

Collecting Offering

New year, new experience - collecting offering! ehehehhe....

Many people said to me that when i'm on stage, i speak very much like pc. so, i contemplated whether to try something new by saying it like this...
"Proverbs says ‘One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.’
So, give me all your money!!" hahahhaha.....

of course i didnt say that but put it nicely like this...

"Jesus said in the book of Luke & Matthew, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Let us learn to honor God with our treasures and also with our heart.

Proverb also says ‘One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.’

As we give, we honor God with these treasures and with our heart so that we may prosper and may be refreshed by God. That’s a promise given to you.

Ushers, you may proceed.

Lord, we thank you for the abundance you’ve given to us – you’ve been a GREAT God. We lay this offering at your hands, bless it to be used for the extension of your purposes and works. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen."

*wink wink
